White-Plumed Honeyeater

For a couple of days, I have been trying to photograph the white-plumed honeyeaters which have been visiting our back yard on a regular basis.

These birds are difficult to photograph, as they are small, and like many small birds, are highly active, darting around everywhere, barely staying still for long enough to snap a frame or two.

Even at a close distance, I still needed a very long focal length of 800mm, and that was not enough.

After some perseverance, I captured this image of one of the honeyeaters sitting in a grevillea.

The next challenge is to photograph one with a clean background.
