Penfolds Grange 1998, Magnum #0833

About

Penfolds Grange 1998 is a blend of 97% shiraz and 3% cabernet sauvignon.

1998 was a very good year for shiraz, and to even find a 1998 Grange, let alone a magnum, was a pretty rare opportunity that I could not pass up.

I bought this bottle in Brisbane, and plan to cellar it for a long time.

It is not a 'drink now' wine, and will mature and change character over many years of proper cellar storage.

Lighting setup:

1. Canon Speedlite 580EX positioned at 45 degrees to camera left, 0.3m from the white background and pointed at the background. Power set to 1/128th + 0.3 EV; zoom set to 35mm. Triggered by a PocketWizard PLUS II.

2. Canon Speedlite 580EX II positioned at 45 degrees to camera right, 2m from the subject, at a higher elevation. Power set to 1/4th; zoom set to 35mm. Shot through a hand-held 80cm diffuser dish. Triggered by a PocketWizard PLUS II.
